Anthony Told Wayne He’s Done with Shayla—But Then Shayla Showed Up Crying at Amber’s Door! 😢🔁

[INT. WAYNE’S LIVING ROOM – LATE EVENING]

Anthony is sitting on Wayne’s couch, elbows on his knees, staring into space. Wayne comes in from the kitchen with two glasses of water. He hands one to Anthony and takes a seat across from him.

WAYNE:
You good, bro? You been sittin’ there like you just lost everything.

ANTHONY: (sighs heavily)
Feels like I did. I’m done, Wayne. I told her. I told Shayla I ain’t coming back.

WAYNE:
Wait, what? You serious?

ANTHONY:
Dead serious. This time, I mean it. I can’t keep running in circles, man. Every time I think we good, she switch up. One minute she crying on my chest, next minute she texting Arby about co-parenting “boundaries.”

WAYNE:
Dawg… you sure you didn’t just overthink it again? You know Shayla emotional, but she real with you.

ANTHONY:
Nah, this wasn’t no overthinking. I saw the way she looked at me lately, like she already done moved on in her heart. I ain’t gonna stay where I ain’t wanted.

WAYNE: (nods, sipping his water)
I hear you. But you told her… to her face?

ANTHONY:
Yeah. Sat across from her in the kitchen. Told her I was staying somewhere else, for good this time. She ain’t even try to stop me, Wayne. That’s how I knew.

[CUT TO: SHAYLA’S HOUSE – NIGHT]

Shayla sits on the edge of her bed, staring at the closed door. Her chest is rising and falling fast. She swipes at a tear and then stands. Moments later, she grabs her phone and her car keys.

[EXT. AMBER’S APARTMENT – LATER THAT NIGHT]

Amber opens the door in a silk robe, surprised and confused.

AMBER:
Shayla? Girl—what’s wrong?

SHAYLA: (tears rolling down her face)
Can I… can I come in?

AMBER:
Of course, come on, come in.

Amber steps aside. Shayla walks in, clutching a tissue. Amber closes the door gently and follows her into the living room.

[INT. AMBER’S LIVING ROOM]

AMBER:
Okay, you gotta talk to me. You crying, it’s midnight, and you showin’ up at my door like your whole world just cracked.

SHAYLA: (barely holding it together)
He left, Amber. Anthony told me… he’s done.

AMBER: (gasps)
Wait, what?! He really said that?

SHAYLA:
Yes. He sat there across the kitchen table like it was a business meeting and said, “I’m done staying here.” No emotion. Just… cold.

AMBER:
Girl, what happened? I thought y’all were trying again!

SHAYLA:
We were! Or… I thought we were. But everything’s been tense. He’s been distant ever since that whole “Kai’s last name” mess. And then when I talked to Arby last week, Anthony just flipped.

AMBER:
Shayla… you did tell Arby that Kai might carry his last name. That would shake anybody.

SHAYLA: (defensive)
But I explained why! Arby’s been stepping up. And Anthony’s been in and out emotionally. I wanted to secure something for my son.

AMBER:
I get it. I do. But Anthony’s pride is big. You know that. And going to Wayne after everything?

SHAYLA:
I didn’t think he would. But I guess that’s where he always goes when he wants confirmation he right.

AMBER: (quietly)
Or maybe he just needs someone who won’t cry in front of him.

SHAYLA: (shocked)
Wow. Is that what you think this is? That I cry too much? That I’m weak?

AMBER:
No, sis. I think you carry too much. And sometimes you explode from holding it all in too long. But Anthony… he don’t know how to handle that. He reacts instead of listens.

SHAYLA: (softly)
I was just trying to love him through it…

[CUT BACK TO WAYNE’S HOUSE – SAME NIGHT]

Wayne is pacing the living room, while Anthony stares at his phone, clearly tempted to call Shayla.

WAYNE:
So you just walked out? No “let’s fix this”? No “we need space”?

ANTHONY:
Wayne, I gave that woman everything. She always got one foot out. And now she runnin’ to Amber like I’m the enemy?

WAYNE: (pauses)
Hold up… how you know she with Amber?

ANTHONY: (shrugs)
I don’t. I just know her. That’s the only place she ever go when she emotional. Amber got that soft spot for her.

WAYNE:
Man… if she cryin’ at Amber’s door right now, maybe she do still care. Maybe she just ain’t good at showing it the right way.

ANTHONY: (frustrated)
And maybe I’m just tired of tryin’ to read between lines. I want a woman who makes me feel wanted without question. I ain’t about to keep earning love like it’s a prize.

[INT. AMBER’S APARTMENT – LATER]

Shayla is curled on Amber’s couch with a blanket. Her mascara has smudged. Amber sits beside her, rubbing her shoulder.

SHAYLA:
I should’ve fought for him when he walked out.

AMBER:
You still can.

SHAYLA:
What would I even say? “Come back so I can keep making you miserable”?

AMBER:
No. You say, “Come back because I finally see where I went wrong—and where we both did.” You say, “I still want us.”

SHAYLA:
But what if he don’t want me anymore?

AMBER:
Then at least you’ll know you tried. At least you’ll know your love was real and honest.

SHAYLA: (tearfully)
He deserves that. I just don’t want to look desperate.

AMBER:
Sis, love is never desperate. It’s bold. And if he loves you—even a little—he’ll feel that.

[NEXT MORNING – WAYNE’S HOUSE]

Anthony is sleeping on the couch. Wayne walks in with coffee and tosses him a shirt.

WAYNE:
Get up. You need to go see Shayla.

ANTHONY:
Man, I told you—

WAYNE:
Naw, I let you rant last night. But I saw your face. You ain’t done with her. Not really.

ANTHONY: (quiet)
What if I go and she’s moved on?

WAYNE:
Then you’ll handle it like a man. But if you don’t go… you’ll never forgive yourself for walking away too soon.

[EXT. AMBER’S APARTMENT – MORNING]

Anthony knocks on the door. Amber opens it, fully dressed, expression unreadable.

AMBER:
She’s asleep. What do you want, Anthony?

ANTHONY: (earnest)
I need to talk to her.

AMBER: (after a long pause)
Wait here.

[INT. AMBER’S LIVING ROOM – MINUTES LATER]

Shayla walks out, hair tied up, hoodie on. She sees Anthony and freezes.

SHAYLA:
You came?

ANTHONY:
Yeah. Because walking away last night… hurt more than staying ever did.

SHAYLA: (tears forming again)
So… what now?

ANTHONY:
Now, we talk. For real this time. No assumptions. No walking away mid-sentence. Just us.

SHAYLA:
I’d like that.

They sit. No more anger. Just silence, and a long-overdue beginning.
